January - Garnet

March - Aquamarine
A favourite of jewellery designers, this beautiful pale blue stone is said to originate in the treasure chests of mermaids. It brings the wearer joy and wealth.

See the diamond section of this site for more information. A less expensive alternative to diamond is cubic zirconia. This man made stone adds a bit of sparkle to gold and silver jewellery without the cost of a diamond! Cubic zirconia or 'CZ' also comes in variety of bright colours.
May - Emerald
The intense, radiant green of emeralds conveys harmony and a love of life. The stone of Venus, Greek Goddess of Love, emerald symbolises beauty, love and happiness.

July - Ruby
Rubies have long been considered the king of gemstones with their magnificent colour, excellent hardness and outstanding brilliance. Their warm, fiery tones symbolise love, passion and vivacity.
August - Peridot
This vivid green stone with a glimmer of gold is the perfect compliment to a fresh light summer wardrobe.
September - Sapphire
Sapphires come in a range of different blues from deep midnight shades to light sky blue tones. Sapphires are associated with peace and loyalty in love.
October - Opal
Opals shine and sparkle in a continually changing play of colours. They are said to help its wearer find and keep true and real love.
November - Citrine
With its warm, mellow tones, citrine jewellery brings a hint of sunshine to any dull day. Also said to dispel sadness and anger.
December - Turquoise

Lapis Lazuli
One of the earliest stones to be set in jewellery, Lapis Lazuli is a deep blue with golden inclusions of pyrites. Frequently regarded as the stone of friendship and truth.
Iolite
A beautiful soft violet blue, Iolite was used by ancient Viking mariners in special telescopes to navigate their way across the Atlantic Ocean!
Tourmaline
Tourmalines come in a great variety of colours ranging from intense green through to multi coloured stone such as the green and pink 'watermelon' tourmaline.
Tanzanite
Discovered in Tanzania in the 1960s by passing Massai shepherds, Tanzanite is a beautiful deep blue with a subtle hint of purple.
Jade
A beautiful delicate green stone, jade has long been revered by ancient cultures as a symbol of wisdom and inner peace.
Amber
Made from fossilised tree resin, amber is a beautiful golden gemstone with a silky feel. Its popularity increased in recent years after the success of the film 'Jurassic Park' where dinosaur DNA was found in an insect trapped in amber!
Moonstone
The moonstone owes its name to a mysterious pale blue shimmer which changes as the stone moves. Moonstones are often associated with fertility.
